Clock Number 1 – Unique Escapement Skeleton

Clock Number 1 – Unique Escapement Skeleton

Date completed: Year 2000 (Chelmsford, UK)

This clock was the first clock built by Buchanan as a company operating in England. It was designed to showcase what Buchanan could offer.

It is a great wheel skeleton clock with an ornate  engine turned bezel and case.  A fusee and maintaining power provides a 2 week power reserve for the clock on a full wind.

The centre piece to this clock is the elaborate and unique escapement – a constant force, pivoted detent, chronometer escapement.  Buchanan retained this clock in its possession until 2007 when it was sold to its present owner.
